Teixeira Trigo Lda was founded in 1982, with the same motivation and energy as today. With the same rigor. The same desire to make a difference. Being next to the customer. Always with solutions that are commitments.
The ambition expressed by engineer José Teixeira Trigo, when creating Teixeira Trigo, remains our inspiration: to improve society through the quality and harmony of our collaborations.
We started our activity with the Project area, which has already accompanied engineer José Teixeira Trigo since the 1960s.
Eng. José Teixeira Trigo prepared his first project autonomously in 1967, with the structural design of the Church of Paço d'Arcos. Simultaneously with his activity as a designer, he participated in research and development activities at the National Civil Engineering Laboratory (LNEC) where he was director of the Buildings Department and the LNEC Quality Mark.
In 1991, we joined the Enterprise Management and Works Management and Supervision area in our activity, under the leadership of engineer Pedro Trigo.
In 1993, activity began in the Architecture area, under the guidance of the architect Luisa Trigo.
The knowledge, the entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the strategic thinking of our founder, have guided the company, which has grown over the years and solidified its position in the market.
With experienced professionals and teams of excellence from different generations, we always assume a posture of monitoring the evolution of the market, as is the case with the implementation of the BIM (Building Information Model) methodology. We are able to implement this methodology in all our projects and projects.
Always on the side of the developer and the end user of the construction, we have achieved success in buildings of great quality and programmatic complexity, which has brought us several awards and recognitions:
- Our founder received the Secil Civil Engineering award for the structural design of the Atrium Saldanha building, Lisbon, in 1999. He collaborated in the structural design of the Sagrado Coração de Jesus Church, in Lisbon, the 1975 Valmor award which was classified as a Monument National in 2010.
- We collaborated in several projects that received the Valmor and Municipal Architecture awards: in 1987, the housing complex of Bairro EPUL do Alto do Restelo (honorable mention); in 2001, the Atrium Saldanha building; in 2002, the ISCTE II building; in 2006, the Colmeia IV building (honorable mention); in 2007, the Hospital da Luz building (1st phase). The housing developments in Alto da Loba, in 1990 and Laveiras, in 1992, both in Oeiras and a housing building in Pego Longo, Sintra, in 1995, received the INH award.
- Works designed by us received awards related to the rehabilitation of buildings, such as the Municipal Award for Urban Rehabilitation, in 1995, by the Café Lisboa building; the IRHU Rehabilitation Award, in 2011, for the intervention at the Lyceum Pedro Nunes; the SIL award in the trade and services category with the Hospital da Luz of Vila Real and the National Rehabilitation award, in 2020, for the Duques de Bragança building.
- We participated in the development of the Nova School of Business & Economics, Carcavelos Campus, which received the Real Estate Oscar for Development Venture of the Year and Best Collective Facility in 2019. The Integrated Project Management and the Construction Management of the work was our responsibility.
Since the beginning of the company, we have been involved in projects that total approximately 2,000,000 m2 of construction area.
